There could be legal or technical stipulations that are less attractive for certain devs on certain platforms, making it not worth the effort unless the game does well enough on the biggest platform first, etc. Most game developers would happily distribute their stuff as widely as possible if it was easy enough. I just wouldn't assume it's a lack of desire on the devs' part that this isn't published elsewhere too. I'm not saying you're wrong for wanting this on GOG, of course. It's not trivial to publish and push out updates to multiple platforms, keeping tabs on the community in several places, managing issues that may only appear in one build and not the others, dealing with the financials, etc. Different legal jurisdictions especially have a big impact on stuff like this. Originally posted by BlackSun:Seriously this, why the F do so many developers especially indie devs not publish their games on other platforms? Can't speak for the devs, but I'm guessing it's not as simple as it sounds, especially for devs that aren't based in the United States. Why? Do you guys just not want my money? I've just noticed this and Ixion among other games but they're not showing up on GOG so I'm not getting them til then. I bought like 200 titles on GOG since I left Steam and only even have it running because I literally need Steam clogging my taskmanager to run my DRMd games. I have too many games backlogged to force myself to buy one really good looking game on Steam. But now I have the downside of so many indie devs drag their heels on getting it published at GOG, meaning I'm not gonna buy it. Also don't have to suffer all the anime shovelware. I just don't buy any games here period since like, has it really been 2 years wow. Second of all, GOG Galaxy is basically exactly like Steam used to be, before all the long series of buggy bloated bs updates and not to mention how insufferable huge blocks of the userbase here happen to be. First of all, I don't need some bloatware client running to launch my games if I don't want it to. Microprose has already many games on GOG, c'mon! Seriously this, why the F do so many developers especially indie devs not publish their games on other platforms? I just flat out stopped buying games on Steam at the end of 2019 or something like that when I finally had it with all the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ inherent to this platform and I've loved it ever since.
